Candle Aftercare

Candle safety is our top priority. Our Candles have been tested to ensure proper wick size for safe burning. We ask that you please read the directions below so that you can have a safe and magical Candle burning experience at home.

  • Initial Burn

Our candles have had their wicks trimmed to the ideal size for the first initial burn. To prevent tunneling, your first burn should reach all the way to the sides of the vessels, around 3-4 hours. Never burn candles for more than 4 hours.

  • Wick Trimming

After the Initial burn, the wick should be trimmed to 1/4". This will help prevent sooting (black smoke), maintain a steady flame, and ensure the flame doesn't get too big. You can use a wick trimmer, scissors, or use a tissue and pinch the wick back.

  • Setting

Place candle on a stable & heat resistant surface away from flammable objects before lighting. keep away from areas with heavy drafts as this can cause the flame to "dance" and may cause sooting.

  • Fire Hazard

Candles can pose a fire hazard when not cared for correctly. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep candles out of reach of children & Pets. Never pick up a lit candle, the vessel gets extremely hot & can burn.
